Today, SPRAWL zero—a fast-paced first-person cyberpunk shooter inspired by the golden era of early 2000s (Y2K) console FPS games—officially launched on the Switch 2 console.
Plot and Gameplay Features
The game's events unfold in a metropolis plunging into chaos due to a military regime and fanatics of the IMAGO-DEI religious techno-cult. Players control a cybernetically enhanced soldier named FIVE, whose main goal is to eliminate the cult leader, SILAS.
The combat system combines a classic fast pace and tactical elements in the spirit of F.E.A.R. and Halo. Enemies utilize smart artificial intelligence, coordinate their actions, and flank the player. To combat them, the protagonist possesses a solid set of skills and equipment:
- Gravity gauntlets and shield: the ability to catch enemy bullets and send them back, as well as manipulate environmental physics;
- Bullet-Time (Time Dilation): a mode for pinpoint accurate shots during the fiercest firefights;
- Huge arsenal: over 40 types of weapons with different tactical roles;
- Non-linear locations: well-thought-out levels with verticality and multiple paths.
Pricing and Editions
The standard version of SPRAWL zero is priced at $24.99 / €24.99, but a special 20% discount is active on Switch 2 during the first two weeks following the release. A Deluxe Edition is also available, featuring a digital artbook and an official 17-track soundtrack by Carlos Lizarraga.
