The company Takara Tomy is preparing to release the updated interactive toy Pokémon Friends Poke Ball+, scheduled for release in Japan on November 7, 2026. The new product offers significantly expanded functionality compared to previous versions in the lineup.
What's new in Poke Ball+?
While the device previously focused only on basic mini-games, players will now get a much wider variety of activities:
- New mini-games, including Poké Ball throwing and cooking treats;
- Virtual pet care: feeding, room decoration, and walks together;
- A communication feature that allows a Pokémon to "visit" the owner of another identical gadget;
- Support for Traditional Chinese in addition to Japanese and English.
As the main pet, players can choose Pikachu, Piplup, Rowlet, Scorbunny, Dedenne, Gengar, or Ditto. In addition to these, about 170 other Pokémon will appear in the game as friends. There is currently no information regarding a global release of the toy outside of Japan.
