Nintendo Gamepads Now Work "Out of the Box" on Linux
The open-source operating system Linux continues to actively expand capabilities for gamers. The fresh kernel update to version 7.4 brought welcome changes for owners of Nintendo accessories: native drivers for current controllers were integrated into the system.
Which Controllers Are Supported
According to the Linux 7.4 changelog, the OS now officially recognizes and supports the following devices:
- Joy-Con 2;
- Pro Controller 2;
- Classic GameCube controller.
This allows players to connect the new Switch 2 controllers as well as the classic GameCube directly to a Linux-powered PC and use them in games without the need to install third-party utilities or configure complex driver emulators.
