D4 Enterprise has announced the release of the classic role-playing game EGGCONSOLE The Screamer PC-8801 on the hybrid Nintendo Switch console.
Old-school cyberpunk RPG with unforgiving permadeath
The original game The Screamer was released back in 1985 for Japanese PC-8801 computers. It is a 3D dungeon crawler in a grim cyberpunk setting that gained cult status in its time thanks to its hardcore mechanics: upon the character's death, the game ruthlessly deleted the player's save file.
Plot and features of the project:
- Post-apocalyptic world: The events unfold in a ruined world of the year 199X following World War III.
- The mysterious BIAS Tower: The protagonist is a hunter who sets out to explore a former symbol of humanity's hope that has turned into a lair of demons.
- Authentic retro experience: The port offers preserved original graphics, balance, and the atmosphere of the '80s classic.
You can check out the re-release of this retro classic today on the Nintendo eShop digital store.
