Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch to Release on Switch 2 Featuring Troy Baker and Oscar Araujo

The asymmetric co-op horror Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch is coming to Switch 2 on October 22, featuring Troy Baker and Oscar Araujo.

Indie studio Atlantis Studio has shared new details about its upcoming asymmetric cooperative horror game Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch ahead of its worldwide release on October 22, 2026, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2. In addition to opening pre-orders on the Nintendo eShop, the developers announced the involvement of true industry stars in the project.

Star-Studded Cast and Composer

Renowned actor Troy Baker, familiar to gamers for iconic roles in The Last of Us, Death Stranding, and BioShock Infinite, has joined the game's voice cast. His voice will bring even more depth and expressiveness to the story.

Composer Oscar Araujo, creator of the soundtrack for the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow trilogy, is responsible for the score and atmosphere. The music subtly emphasizes themes of isolation, uncertainty, and escalating fear while exploring the mysterious House.

Gameplay Features

Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch is designed exclusively for two players, where survival directly depends on coordinated communication:

  • Asymmetric exploration: one player wanders through the eerie mansion in first person, while the other uses surveillance cameras and tactical devices to guide their partner and warn them of dangers.
  • Collaboration on the Gloam monster: the team worked together with Q-Games studio on the animations and creepy essence of the main threat.
  • Friend’s Pass: only one copy of the game is required. Thanks to the Friend’s Pass system, a second player can join for free via local network, GameShare, or online.

Pre-orders for Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch are now available on the Nintendo eShop digital store for Switch 2.
