The creator of the cult hit Stardew Valley, Eric Barone (known as ConcernedApe), gave a new in-depth interview to GQ, sharing fresh details about his long-awaited next project — Haunted Chocolatier.
More Battles and Adventure
Although fans were expecting another cozy life sim, Barone noted that Haunted Chocolatier leans significantly more toward the action-RPG genre than classic farming. The focus will not be on tending crops, but on exploring the world, gathering ingredients through combat, and running a chocolate shop with the help of ghosts.
What Players Can Expect:
- A deeper combat system: using a variety of weapons and shields for blocking and counterattacking.
- Story focus: interacting with townspeople and uncovering the secrets of a mysterious castle.
- Chocolate making: crafting unique recipes from resources gathered during adventures.
Development is progressing at the developer's solo pace, so an exact release date has not yet been announced; however, the project remains one of the most anticipated among indie game fans.
