As part of the Tokyo Game Show, a fresh trailer for the retro shooter XELAN FORCE Advanced Edition was presented. This is an updated and significantly expanded re-release of the original 8-bit game, which initially launched on Nintendo Switch in 2024.
90s-Style Arcade Evolution
The concept behind the Advanced Edition is based on the idea: "What if an 8-bit console game from the 80s was reborn in 90s arcade halls?" The project received a complete visual overhaul:
- Completely redrawn pixel art in 320x224 resolution.
- Significantly increased animation frame rate and the use of authentic raster effects.
- New characters and additional gameplay content.
- An FM soundtrack, once again handled by composer Yasuhiro Inazawa.
In addition, the physical edition of XELAN FORCE Advanced Edition will include the original 8-bit version of Xelan Force. The game is scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC (Steam).
