Bushiroad Games has officially announced the development of the card game Weiß Schwarz Online, which will be released not only on Nintendo Switch, but also on the upcoming Switch 2. The release in Japan is scheduled for March 24, 2027, with support for several languages, including English and Spanish.
Story Mode and Tutorial Features
The game will feature a full single-player campaign where players take on the role of student Hinata Amamiya at Tenko Academy. In this institution, all conflicts are resolved exclusively through Weiß Schwarz card battles. The school is divided into two factions — the "White Squad," focused on order, and the "Black Squad," striving for freedom.
For beginners, the developers have prepared a step-by-step tutorial and a hint system, allowing players to quickly master the rules of the collectible game and learn how to combine cards.
Game Modes and Online Battles
- CPU Fight: quick battles against computer opponents with a choice of three difficulty levels.
- Online Fight: various online battles, including free matches (Free Fight), ranked competitions (Ranked Fight), and private rooms for friends (Room Fight).
- Deck Building: victories award in-game currency WSP, which can be spent on new card packs, accessories, and strengthening your deck.
Physical Editions for Switch 2
For the Switch 2 platform, the game will receive three physical versions (in the format of a card with a game key): Weiß Edition, Schwarz Edition, as well as a limited first edition Complete Edition. All of them will come with exclusive promo cards for true collectors.
