Bushiroad Games has announced the release of a pair of new visual novels for Nintendo Switch — Lilac: side Witch and Lilac: side Wizard. Both games offer alternative versions of the same story and will become available on the console on November 5, 2026, with support for English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese languages.
Two perspectives on one story
The events of the fantasy visual novel unfold at Lilac Academy — a magic school established to unite humans and mages. The plot follows Emil, a human who despises mages, and Henri, a somewhat clumsy wizard. Together, they will have to learn to find common ground while overcoming their own fears and prejudices.
The main feature of the project is its division into two versions:
- Lilac: side Witch — a version featuring an all-female main cast;
- Lilac: side Wizard — a version featuring an all-male cast of characters.
Both versions of the game share a common storyline, but differ in voice actors, illustrations, and minor narrative details. Players who purchase one version will be able to acquire the other as downloadable content (DLC).
