FuRyu has presented a new trailer for the upcoming action roguelike CRYMELIGHT—a new installment in the well-known "Dark Bishoujo Action" Cry series, following the success of CRYSTAR (2019) and CRYMACHINA (2023). The project's release on the next-generation console Switch 2 is scheduled for November 5, 2026.
A Journey Through Purgatory for Rebirth
The protagonist is a girl named Alice. She wakes up with no memories of her past and learns that she must descend to the lowest level of Purgatory to earn her "Rebirth." Setting out from the Tea Party Hall, Alice will battle enemies born of madness and confront her own sins.
Key Gameplay Features
- Wonderland and the Tea Party: traveling between "Wonderland," which serves as a prison for the souls of the deceased, and the "Tea Party"—a sanctuary where players can atone for sins accumulated in battles to earn upgrades and new abilities.
- Wonder Dimension System: defeating enemies releases an energy space that enhances the player's skills, accelerates movement, and opens up new tactical maneuvers.
- Poker Skill Deck: between levels, players collect skill cards. The stronger the five-card poker hand assembled, the more powerful the bonuses the heroine receives.
- Two View Modes: players can switch between "World-Immersion Mode" (a side view with a minimalistic interface) and "Action Mode" (a top-down view for convenient battlefield control).
An experienced team is working on CRYMELIGHT: writer Naoki Hisaya is responsible for the story, composer Sakuzyo handles the music, and character designs are created by artist YOGISYA.
