A New Look at the 1996 Classic
Amazon Game Studios and Crystal Dynamics have released the sixth episode in a series of mini-documentaries about the making of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis — a large-scale reimagining of the iconic 1996 debut game about Lara Croft.
Updated Combat System and Character Progression
In the new video, developers from Crystal Dynamics, Flying Wild Hog studio, and actress Alix Wilton Regan shared details on how the team adapted the combat system and the heroine's progression to modern action-adventure standards.
Players can expect:
- A completely updated visual presentation and cinematic battles (including the legendary clash against the Tyrannosaurus).
- Familiar classic puzzles enhanced with fresh mechanics.
- An atmospheric story about uncovering the secrets of Atlantis with modernized gameplay.
The release of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is scheduled for February 12, 2027, for the Nintendo Switch 2 platform.
