Thunder Hoop Collection Launches on Nintendo Switch

The 90s arcade classic Thunder Hoop Collection from Gaelco and QUByte Interactive has officially launched on Nintendo Switch.

Fans of retro classics and the 90s golden age of arcades have a reason to celebrate. Publisher QUByte Interactive, in partnership with Bleem!, has released the Thunder Hoop Collection on Nintendo Switch.

The Return of 90s Arcade Madness

In 1992 and 1994, Spanish company Gaelco, S.A. released one of the most unusual and intense run-and-gun platformer duologies: the original Thunder Hoop and its two-player sequel TH Strikes Back.

The series stood out for its striking visual style, combining the aesthetics of Akira Toriyama's "Dragon Ball" (characteristic hairstyle, martial arts gi, and powerful energy waves) with grotesque biopunk in the vein of H.R. Giger ("Alien"), David Cronenberg, and John Carpenter ("The Thing").

Collection Features

  • Two classic games: Thunder Hoop and TH Strikes Back.
  • Two-player cooperative mode in the sequel.
  • Powered by the proprietary QUByte Emulation Engine.
  • Crazy bio-monsters, fast-paced platforming, and unforgettable arcade action.

Both arcade gems are now available for Nintendo Switch owners in one convenient collection.
