The Witcher 3 receives Bard's Ballad mode for tired and overwhelmed players

CD Projekt Red introduced the Bard's Ballad mode for The Witcher 3, created for players who feel overtired and want to eliminate routine mechanics.

Caring for Players' Comfort and Free Time

Among the updates in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, a special accessibility preset called Bard’s Ballad has appeared. Its goal is to give gamers more control over how they spend their time and attention resources while playing the legendary RPG.

Eliminating the Routine

The mode allows disabling gameplay elements often perceived as mundane chores:

  • Disabling item wear and breakage.
  • Removing the inventory weight limit.
  • Disabling herb markers on the minimap to reduce fear of missing out (FOMO) and visual clutter.

Who Is the Preset For?

CD Projekt Red noted that Bard’s Ballad is designed for people with concentration difficulties (including ADHD), depression, or cognitive fatigue. At the same time, it is an ideal "mode for tired parents" or anyone who simply wants to relax in their favorite world without unnecessary micromanagement.
