The Spectrum Retreat: Redux to Be Released on Nintendo Switch 2 as Early as Next Week

The first-person puzzle game The Spectrum Retreat is returning in an updated form. According to a listing on the Nintendo eShop digital store, publisher Ripstone plans to release a re-release titled The Spectrum Retreat: Redux for the next-generation Nintendo Switch 2 console as early as October 29, 2026.

What's new in the updated version?

The original game was released on the first-generation Nintendo Switch back in 2018. The new edition subtitled Redux will offer players:

• Enhanced graphics and visual effects optimized for the Switch 2 hardware;
• Support for new mouse / touch controls;
• Additional optimizations and gameplay improvements.

In The Spectrum Retreat, players find themselves in the mysterious and eerie The Penrose hotel, solving spatial color puzzles and uncovering the secrets of their stay there.
