Bandai Namco has unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming massive expansion SUPER-LIMIT BREAKING NEO for the popular fighting game DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO. The expansion's release on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 platforms is expected in 2027.
New Single-Player Mode and Expansion Content
The main feature of the DLC will be the single-player "Limit Breaker Journey" mode. In it, players will be able to choose their favorite hero, upgrade their stats, use special Battle Arts to gain a tactical advantage, and customize the fighter to their unique playstyle while traveling across the map and challenging various opponents.
The paid expansion includes:
- Over 30 new playable characters (a total of 33 fighters from DRAGON BALL, DBZ, DB Super, and DB GT);
- 4 new story Episode Battles;
- 4 new battle arenas;
- Expanded character customization options.
Free Update and Fresh Mechanics
Alongside the DLC, players will receive a free update that will bring variations of existing arenas and significant changes to gameplay:
- Sparking! Boost: allows you to spend Skill Stock while in Sparking! Mode to sharply increase attack power, though after the boost ends, the fighter's stats will be temporarily reduced.
- Chain Blast: a new combo mechanic that lets you continue an attack after knocking back an opponent—you will be able to instantly switch to a reserve ally and deliver a devastating energy blast.
