Bandai Namco is preparing to release an updated version of the cult role-playing game Tales of Eternia Remastered, scheduled for release on October 16, 2026, for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. It has been revealed that players in Europe and Japan will be able to purchase the game on physical media.
Physical Edition Features
The format of the physical editions will differ depending on the platform:
- Nintendo Switch: the full version of the game will be entirely contained on the cartridge;
- Switch 2: the edition will be released in the Game-Key Card format, requiring an additional file download from the network.
A physical release has not been announced for North America at this time, so local fans will have to rely on imports.
What's New in the Remaster?
Tales of Eternia Remastered offers players the classic story of Reid Hershel and his friends with a number of improvements:
- Ability to switch between updated and original graphics and sound effects;
- Quality-of-Life features: experience adjustments, encounter rate settings, auto-battle speed-up, and Battle Retry;
- New difficulty levels: Extreme from the start and Unknown unlocked after completing the game;
- 60 fps support on all devices and up to 4K resolution on Switch 2.
