Explorer Gadget Update for Active Gameplay
The Explorer Gadget feature in Pokémon GO is getting a significant update. Previously, the gadget only helped in the background to automatically catch Pokémon and spin PokéStops when the game was minimized. Now, the Explorer Gadget will also work during an active play session.
Trainers level 20 and above can enable the feature via an icon on the map or in the Item Bag. When the gadget attempts to catch a Pokémon or spin a PokéStop on the map, a pink Poké Ball will appear above the object. If a player wants to take over and catch the Pokémon manually, they can simply tap on it within a limited time.
Important Details on Gadget Operation
- The Explorer Gadget will not attempt to catch powerful monsters or those not yet registered in your Pokédex.
- The gadget cannot operate simultaneously with a connected accessory like the Pokémon GO Plus +, although unpairing them is not required.
- A report on all finds caught by the gadget and spun PokéStops is available at any time via the item's menu.
Other Quality-of-Life Improvements in Pokémon GO
Along with the gadget revamp, the developers have added a number of useful visual and gameplay changes:
- Updated Catch Summary: clearer display of rewards and bonuses after a successful throw.
- Dedicated Appraise Button: checking a Pokémon's IVs has become easier thanks to a dedicated Appraise button on the creature's card.
- Improved Visibility: updated color saturation for spun PokéStops, ring indicators for Lure Modules, and visual effects for the Mystery Box and Coin Bag.
- Power Spot Changes: visiting Power Spots no longer triggers special wild encounters around them, ensuring more consistent Pokémon spawns.
