The Pokémon Company loves to tease fans, but its latest social media activity hints at something truly massive. It seems the developers have launched a mysterious countdown.
Mysterious Social Media Posts
As noticed by Joe Merrick from the authoritative portal Serebii, official Japanese accounts of The Pokémon Company have started posting logo images for the franchise's upcoming 30th anniversary featuring cryptic numbers:
- October 18: the number 1,025 was published;
- October 26: the number 843 was published;
- November 2: the number 676 was published.
Attentive fans quickly calculated that these values decrease by exactly the number of hours that have passed between each post. The countdown is leading up to an unknown date in late November or early December.
What Can Fans Expect?
For now, one can only guess what this countdown is leading to. It could be anything from a major new trailer to an announcement of new games in the series for the current console or the upcoming Switch 2 as part of the Pokémon universe anniversary celebration.
