An excavation game has been released for Nintendo Switch where a guitar controller serves as a shovel

An unusual excavation simulator, Isekibori, in which a HORI guitar controller is used instead of a shovel, has been released for Nintendo Switch.

An unusual take on using a guitar controller

In the Japanese region, an extremely original excavation simulator called Isekibori (which roughly translates to "Relic Excavation") has been released for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The project was developed by independent creator Takahiro Miyazawa.

The main highlight of the game is its control scheme: instead of conventional gamepads, the developer adapted the game for the HORI Guitar Life guitar controller. In the game, the controller acts as an improvised shovel for finding and excavating ancient artifacts.

Game features:

  • Unique controls using a special HORI controller;
  • Meditative gameplay focused on searching for hidden treasures;
  • Full support for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles.
