Nintendo Highlights the Importance of the Brazilian Market and Promises Expanded Support

Nintendo highlighted the importance of the Brazilian market, the massive success of the Zelda remake, and promised to continue game localizations for Switch 2.

Although Japan and North America are traditionally considered Nintendo's primary markets, the company is paying increasingly more attention to other regions with rapidly growing communities. One such key country is Brazil, where interest in the Japanese giant's products and The Legend of Zelda franchise is breaking records.

Recognition of the Brazilian Market and Zelda's Success

In an interview with the publication Veja, Nintendo of America President Devon Pritchard emphasized the importance of the Brazilian market, which is among the top ten largest in the world. According to her, local fans demonstrated incredible enthusiasm for the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, released for the series' 40th anniversary.

Pritchard noted that the company understands the high demand for limited-edition consoles and related merchandise and plans additional shipments of special editions to the region throughout the anniversary year.

Localization and Plans for Nintendo Switch 2

A key factor in Nintendo's success in the region is the availability of games in the players' native language. The president confirmed a continued focus on Portuguese localizations:

  • About two-thirds of Nintendo's first-party releases since the launch of Nintendo Switch 2 have already received a Portuguese translation.
  • The company plans only to increase the scale of localizations in the coming years.
  • Nintendo of America will continue to invest in strengthening the brand's presence in the South American market.

Such a move demonstrates Nintendo's commitment to supporting active fan communities worldwide and making its games closer to every player.
