Incredible Smoothness in Samus's New 2D Adventure
Following the official announcement of Metroid Ravenous, the new installment in the iconic 2D series for the upcoming Switch 2 console, even more exciting technical details have emerged. According to information on the game's Nintendo eShop page, the new title will support a special 120 Hz graphics mode.
This will make Metroid Ravenous the fastest and smoothest game in the entire franchise. It is currently unknown what specific graphical compromises will accompany the 120 Hz activation and what other video settings will be available, but for fans of fast-paced action, this is a great sign.
Plot and Release Details
In the new game, Samus Aran crash-lands on a mysterious moon, where she is ambushed by five powerful space ninjas. Severely wounded, the bounty hunter is forced to explore the labyrinths of the subterranean world, acquire new abilities, and fight one-on-one with dangerous assassins to reach the surface.
Along with the game's release, collectible items will also become available to players:
- Individual amiibo figures: Samus and Chozo Statue;
- A Special Edition of the game with a steelbook and an exclusive Samus in Metroid Suit amiibo figure;
- The standard and special editions will go on sale simultaneously.
The release of Metroid Ravenous for Switch 2 is scheduled for January 28, 2027.
