HAMSTER Co. has announced an addition to its retro lineup: the iconic strategy game NOBUNAGA’S AMBITION II is now available digitally on Switch 2 as part of the Console Archives series.
Return of the 1990 Classic
The original game was released by KOEI in 1990 for 8-bit consoles. In this authentic war simulation, players take on the role of a Sengoku-period daimyō, lead units of distinguished officers, and use diplomacy and military tactics to unite Japan's 38 feudal domains.
Game Features and Re-release Benefits
Compared to the first installment, NOBUNAGA’S AMBITION II received significant improvements:
- A multi-scenario structure with two separate campaigns;
- Hexagonal tactical battles, including both open-field clashes and fortress sieges;
- Over 400 real historical samurai to recruit and manage.
The release within the Console Archives series offers a range of modern conveniences: button mapping settings, display filters, as well as the ability to save and load at any point during the game.
