Konami is preparing the next waves of new games in the Silent Hill series

Silent Hill producer Motoi Okamoto announced that Konami is preparing new waves of projects for the cult horror series following the successful launch of the first releases.

Konami is not going to stop at what has been achieved

Producer of the cult Silent Hill franchise Motoi Okamoto shared Konami's plans for the future of the series in an interview with Famitsu. According to him, the publisher is already actively considering the creation of "second and third waves" of new games.

Following the high-profile reboot of the series in 2022, Konami released the Silent Hill 2 remake, Silent Hill f, and Silent Hill: Townfall. All projects received favorable reviews from critics and audiences, which gave the green light for further expansion of the universe.

One remake is not enough

Okamoto admitted that he had to convince Konami leadership of the need for a comprehensive return of the brand:

  • "As a producer, I couldn't let everything end with just one project," Okamoto noted.
  • "The successful launch of the first wave brought relief, but we are not stopping. We are currently considering a number of new projects."

The main principle of the franchise remains a strong psychological horror component, while in terms of gameplay, developers are ready to experiment boldly. As a reminder, in addition to new concepts, Bloober Team studio is currently also working on a remake of the original first installment of Silent Hill.
