A Real Monster for Arcade and Fighting Game Fans
Well-known accessory manufacturer HORI continues to actively expand its line of peripherals for the Switch 2. The latest high-profile new product is the ultimate HORI Arcade Classic Pro arcade controller, designed specifically for fighting games, shoot 'em ups (shmups), and classic titles in the Arcade Archives series.
Unique Control Modules
The main feature of the device is its wide functionality and modular design with four input options:
- Classic Stick: a universal 8-way joystick with diagonal lock capability for 4-way control.
- Trackball: a rotating ball for intuitive control in classic arcade titles.
- Paddle: a rotary dial for smooth left and right movement (ideal for games like Breakout or Arkanoid).
- Loop Lever: a combination lever that simultaneously supports 8-way tilt and full rotation around its axis.
Flexible Customization
The control modules can be swapped between the left and right sides of the panel to suit individual playstyles. The controller also features turbo mode support (Rapid Fire and Rapid Fire Hold at speeds of 5, 10, or 20 clicks per second) and custom button remapping via the ASSIGN button.
Price and Availability
The estimated price of the HORI Arcade Classic Pro for Switch 2 is around $260. Sales in Japan will start on February 28, with details regarding the global release expected to appear later.
