Kaiju May Also Come to the First-Generation Console
The updated version of the cult 2002 fighting game Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is launching on Switch 2 on November 3, 2026. However, owners of the original Nintendo Switch also stand a chance to join the battle of giant monsters.
In an interview with Nintendo Everything, representatives of developer studio Pipeworks noted that they do not rule out releasing the game on the first version of the Switch:
«Distribution decisions for each game are made in conjunction with our partners and retailers. In this case, retail demand directed us toward a Switch 2 release. However, a future release on Switch 1 is entirely possible», the developers commented.
What Awaits Players in the Remaster?
Publisher Atari and studio Pipeworks have significantly modernized the classic:
- Enhanced graphics and refined gameplay;
- 8 detailed locations with day and night variations;
- Battles in major cities, on Monster Island, and on an alien ship;
- Support for both local co-op and new online multiplayer.
