Suda51 is still trying to release Romeo Is a Dead Man on Switch 2

Grasshopper Manufacture aims to release its new game on Switch 2

Goichi Suda (Suda51), known for the No More Heroes series, continues to actively look for ways to release his new project Romeo Is a Dead Man on Nintendo Switch 2. In addition to a digital release, the studio is very keen to release the game on physical media.

Romeo Is a Dead Man is a story-driven third-person action-adventure game starring Romeo Stargazer. The project will feature dynamic combat, an unpredictable plot, and Grasshopper Manufacture's signature style.

Negotiations with NetEase and porting challenges

In an interview, Suda51 noted that porting the game to Switch 2 has not been canceled, but the process faces certain challenges:

• Search for partners: Grasshopper has held talks with several companies regarding porting and releasing boxed versions, but some of them ended without results.
• Decision up to NetEase: The rights to the Romeo franchise belong to publisher NetEase Games, so the final decision rests with them. The team continues to convince partners of the release's viability.
• Physical release: The studio highly values the importance of physical copies for the community and strives to do everything possible to ensure fans get the game on cartridges.

According to the developer, if final agreements can be reached, the team will be able to implement the Switch 2 version quite quickly.
