Return of the Cult Retro Shooter
Nalua Studio has officially announced Gley Lancer: Overdrive for the Nintendo Switch hybrid console. The release of the updated project is scheduled for 2027.
What's New in the Remake?
The game is a full reimagining of the classic Japanese space scrolling shooter Advanced Busterhawk Gley Lancer, which originally debuted in 1992 on the Sega Mega Drive console. The developers are building the project from scratch, adding modern enhancements.
Key updates announced for Gley Lancer: Overdrive include:
- Completely reworked pixel graphics and a fresh visual style;
- Updated soundtrack and improved sound design;
- Enhanced control and shooting gameplay mechanics;
- Expanded multiplayer mode for playing with friends;
- New modes, challenges, and additional gameplay features.
The creators promise to reveal more details about the gameplay and an exact release date later.
