D4 Enterprise has announced the release of the classic role-playing game The Legend of Heroes III: The White Witch Renewal (the version for the Japanese PC-9801 computer) on the Nintendo Switch hybrid console as part of the EGGCONSOLE lineup.
A Japanese RPG Classic from Nihon Falcom
The original game was released back in 1994 by the renowned studio Nihon Falcom. The version subtitled "Renewal" is an improved edition of the original, where the developers significantly updated the gameplay systems and adjusted the balance.
The plot tells the story of two heroes: the modest boy Jurio and the determined girl Chris, who embark on a coming-of-age pilgrimage traditional to their village. Over time, their journey becomes intertwined with the mysteries of the enigmatic White Witch.
Game Features
- Classic gameplay: top-down perspective, random encounters, and semi-automatic battles with the ability to fine-tune party behavior via the command menu.
- Large-scale story: a full-fledged 9-chapter saga with signature Nihon Falcom dialogue.
- Beginning of the Gagharv Trilogy: this entry opens the famous trilogy, whose world was later continued in The Legend of Heroes IV: A Scarlet Tear and The Legend of Heroes V: A Song of the Sea.
The game is already available on the Nintendo eShop digital store for all fans of retro games and classic JRPGs.
