The Steins Gate opens once again
The cult sci-fi visual novel returns: STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT has officially launched in Japan on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. To mark the occasion, the developers shared an atmospheric Japanese launch trailer.
Western players will have to wait a little longer—the game's release in North America and Europe is scheduled for October 29, 2026.
An updated time travel classic
The story follows a group of resourceful students led by Rintaro Okabe. Their latest experiment unexpectedly grants a microwave the ability to send messages into the past, unlocking the power to alter the course of history. However, the consequences of such manipulations trigger global conspiracies and timeline chaos.
In the RE:BOOT version, significant improvements await players:
- Completely redesigned character illustrations and an updated interface;
- A new original script that significantly expands the storyline;
- A detailed and realistic recreation of the atmosphere of the streets of Tokyo's Akihabara district.
