The release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 for Switch 2 is scheduled for October 23, 2026, and as part of a special "DMZ week," the developers showcased two new trailers dedicated to story missions and bounty systems.
Plot and Scale of the Global Conflict
The events of Modern Warfare 4 unfold against the backdrop of a rapidly escalating global conflict on the Korean Peninsula. Players will take control of Private Park, a young South Korean soldier during a full-scale invasion. Meanwhile, Captain Price operates off the grid, attempting to stop a catastrophic threat.
The story campaign will take players to various corners of the globe:
- Close-quarters combat on the streets of New York;
- Dynamic car chases in Paris;
- Nighttime SAS special forces raids in Mumbai;
- Trench battles on the front lines in Korea.
Multiplayer Features and Switch 2 Support
The multiplayer mode will offer precise and refined gameplay, cross-play functionality, cross-platform progression, as well as optional mouse sensor controls via Joy-Con 2. Other key innovations include:
- Ballistic Authority — a new realistic gunplay system;
- 12 core maps at launch across diverse visual settings;
- The dynamic Kill Block arena, featuring over 500 configurations and changing its structure between rounds.
