The poker roguelike Balatro, which won the hearts of millions of players and collected numerous awards, is preparing for a major version 1.1 update. Despite the patch taking longer to develop than expected, the game's creator, known under the pseudonym LocalThunk, has finally shared fresh details.
What's new in version 1.1?
In his Discord channel, the developer revealed a number of interesting additions and mechanics that will be included in the update:
- At least 4 new Jokers with unique effects.
- More vouchers and an updated system balancing the spawn rate of Tier 2 vouchers.
- A new Tier 2 voucher called Lunker featuring a green fish fighting a hook.
- A new difficulty level (Blue Stake) that reduces the number of discards by 1 (-1 Discard).
- A new "when card is drawn to hand" mechanic, which will also work when opening Tarot cards and Spectral packs.
- The ability to disable or enable version 1.1 update content in the settings using a dedicated toggle.
There is currently no exact release date for update 1.1, but development is actively underway.
