After a long period in early access, the popular Viking survival simulator Valheim has finally received its full 1.0 update. The release of the final version sparked a powerful surge of activity: concurrent players on Steam reached the 160,000 mark, marking the game's best result since April 2021.
Return to the Norse Afterlife
Although the project has not yet matched its early access record (over 500,000 players during the pandemic), the game's overall audience is now much broader. Concurrently with the 1.0 launch, Valheim became available on new platforms, notably the Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, significantly expanding the community of fans of Norse adventures.
What's New in Version 1.0?
The massive update from Iron Gate Studio brought a huge amount of fresh content:
- A new full biome — Deep North.
- Over 40 new types of weapons and tools.
- Expanded building capabilities, new resources, and crafting items.
- Graphics improvements, optimization, and increased draw distance.
With the game's release on next-generation consoles, including the hybrid Switch 2, surviving in the harsh Viking world is now possible both at home in front of the TV and on the go.
