Borderlands Franchise Reaches a New Milestone
Gearbox Software has announced a major achievement: total sales of the Borderlands looter-shooter series have officially surpassed 100 million copies across all platforms. The history of the series began back in 2009, and since then the franchise has become one of the most successful in the modern gaming industry.
Future Plans and the Status of Borderlands 4
The development team has already completed the first-year support roadmap for Borderlands 4, which brought new characters and story add-ons, and is now actively working on content for next year. Gearbox also reassures that it is closely monitoring community feedback to determine the further direction of the series.
What About the Switch 2 Version?
As a reminder, the release of the Borderlands 4 version for Switch 2 was previously delayed indefinitely. Take-Two noted that the studio's top priority remains improving the technical condition and performance of the game before porting it to new devices.
