In recent years, the Persona franchise has demonstrated rapid growth in popularity, transforming from a niche JRPG series into a global phenomenon. Companies SEGA and Atlus shared updated sales figures for the Persona 5 subseries games.

According to the official report, total sales of Persona 5, including the Royal re-release and spin-offs (among them Strikers, Dancing in Starlight, and Tactica), have surpassed the 15.5 million copies mark worldwide across all platforms.

Growth Dynamics

• In June 2023, sales of the subseries stood at 9 million copies.
• At the end of 2023, following the release of the tactical Persona 5 Tactica, the figure exceeded 10 million.
• To date, the series has reached another historic milestone — over 15.5 million copies.

A significant portion of this success comes from the Nintendo Switch platform, where Persona 5 Royal and the spin-offs found a huge and active audience of handheld format fans.
