The anime adaptation of the cult Japanese role-playing game Suikoden: The Anime, based on the events of the legendary second installment of the series by Konami, has finally received an exact premiere date. The series will begin airing in Japan on October 3, 2026.
Plot and New Trailer
The story follows two young men—the protagonist Riou and his best friend Jowy, who served in the youth brigade of the Highland Kingdom. They dreamed of a peaceful life after the war ended, but the whirlwind of fate and conflicts between great powers bestow powerful abilities upon them and place them on opposite sides of the barricades against the backdrop of the 108 shining Stars of Destiny.
Creative Team and Cast
The production is being handled by animation studio Konami animation in collaboration with NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan:

- Series Composition: Michihiro Tsuchiya
- Character Design: Ryo Yamauchi (based on original work by Fumi Ishikawa and Arata Suzuki)
- Music: Koji Nakamura
The lead roles are voiced by Toshiki Kumagai (Riou), Shimba Tsuchiya (Jowy), Ayumi Hinohara (Nanami), Katsuyuki Konishi (Viktor), Yuichi Nakamura (Flik), and Taku Yashiro (Prince Luca Blight).
New episodes will air every Tuesday following the premiere in early October.
