Success of the Updated Classic from Square Enix
Square Enix officially announced that total shipments and digital sales of the role-playing game Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven have surpassed 1 million copies worldwide.
Celebrating an Important Milestone
To commemorate reaching this milestone, the developers shared special celebratory artwork created by artist Yoshiro Ambe. The project is a full 3D remake of the classic 1993 JRPG and offers a modern take on the iconic story.
Key features of the updated game:
- Full 3D graphics with modernized animations and battle system;
- Japanese and English character voiceovers;
- Rearranged soundtrack with the option to switch to the classic audio;
- Unique mechanics of defending the Avalon Empire and passing down experience through generations of rulers.
The game was released on Nintendo Switch in October 2024, and in the summer of 2026, the project received an updated version for the Switch 2 console.
