Capcom continues its massive celebration of the 30th anniversary of the iconic survival horror franchise — Resident Evil. As part of the anniversary events, a series of exciting happenings has been prepared for fans, along with newly revealed details about the release of the remakes on the next-generation console, the Switch 2.
Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 Remakes on Switch 2
Modern reimaginings of the cult classics are officially heading to Nintendo's new console. Players will be able to appreciate updated visuals adapted to the new platform's capabilities while retaining the classic horror atmosphere.
- Digital release: All three installments (Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4) will become available in the digital store on October 16, 2026.
- Physical copies: The cartridge release is scheduled for January 29, 2027.
Anniversary Events for the Series' 30th Anniversary
In addition to game releases, Capcom announced global offline events:
- The World of Resident Evil Exhibition: A themed exhibition in Tokyo, with tickets already on sale.
- Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive: A spine-chilling maze attraction at Universal Studios Japan.
- Anniversary Concert Tour: A series of large-scale orchestral performances across cities in Europe and North America accompanied by video footage of the most memorable moments from the franchise's 30-year history.
