New Improvements and QoL Updates in Pokémon GO: Details of the Changes

Niantic has introduced a series of useful QoL updates to Pokémon GO: simplified Zygarde Cell collection, protection against transferring 100% Pokémon, and an updated interface.

The developers of Pokémon GO continue to actively improve the game by introducing a series of convenient Quality-of-Life changes for trainers. The team shared a recap of recent gameplay updates.

Key changes and innovations:

  • Zygarde Cells on Routes: Found cells are now automatically granted as a reward upon completing a route. You no longer need to manually search for and collect them from the map. Their spawn rate remains unchanged.
  • Combined compass and weather icon: The interface now features a dynamic icon. The compass is displayed while rotating or zooming the map view, while the weather icon is shown at other times. Tapping the weather icon displays current boosts, and tapping the compass adjusts map orientation.
  • Warning when transferring 100% IV Pokémon: A special confirmation prompt now appears if you accidentally attempt to transfer a Pokémon with maximum stats (★ 100%), including during mass transfers.
  • Map view improvements: Spacing between wild Pokémon, Gyms, Power Spots, and PokéStops has been optimized, making it significantly easier to tap the desired object without accidental overlap.
  • Check-in at Community Ambassador meetups: Trainers can now check in to official community events directly from the in-game Nearby map menu or via a browser.
