The classic arcade collection Arcade Archives on Nintendo Switch is expanding with a new retro release. This week, players will be able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the arcade shooter Prehistoric Isle from SNK.
Return of a prehistoric classic
The original game Prehistoric Isle was released in 1989. It is a classic horizontal scrolling shooter set on a mysterious island inhabited by dangerous dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures. Players take control of a combat aircraft, explore uncharted territories, and fight their way through hordes of ferocious enemies.
Re-release features:
- Faithful emulation of the original arcade version by Hamster;
- Flexible game difficulty and screen display settings;
- Support for online leaderboards to compete with players from around the world.
The game will be released on the Nintendo eShop digital store on October 29, 2026.
