Pokémon GO celebrates its 10th anniversary!
In honor of the game's anniversary, the developers have released a touching video showing the journey of trainers from the first trailer to the present day. To thank fans around the world for their dedication, Pokémon GO is giving players a unique opportunity to encounter and catch the legendary Mewtwo for free.
Details of the celebratory Timed Research
At the end of the new video, a special Timed Research was announced. Upon its successful completion, you will be able to get an incredible Pokémon. Features of this reward:
- Mewtwo with maximum stats (maxed-out stats).
- A special festive background (Special Background).
- Immediately unlocked third Mega Evolution level for Mega Mewtwo Y.
Important deadlines and exceptions
All tasks for the celebratory Timed Research must be completed, and the rewards claimed by Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 23:59 local time. If you do not make it in time, the research will disappear.
For trainers who already received Mewtwo during the offline event in Times Square on July 9, different rewards and modified Pokémon stats have been prepared. Mewtwo with the exclusive Times Square background will also return to the game in the future.
