Pokémon and the European Space Agency Celebrate World Space Week 2026

The Pokémon Company and the European Space Agency (ESA) have launched a collaboration for World Space Week 2026: a plush Pikachu visited the ISS.

Pikachu Goes to Space

On the occasion of World Space Week 2026, The Pokémon Company International has joined forces with the European Space Agency (ESA). The main goal of this collaboration is to draw attention to space exploration and inspire a new generation of researchers and scientists.

As part of the partnership, French astronaut Sophie Adenot embarked on a space journey to the International Space Station along with a plush Pikachu wearing a special ESA astronaut suit. Photos and videos of the Pokémon's unique space journey are already available on the official ESA website.

Exhibitions and Themed Merch

During the celebrations, interactive exhibitions will be held at several science centers and museums across Europe. In addition, fans will be able to purchase exclusive merchandise:

  • The official PokemonCenter.com store has prepared plush Pikachus in space gear, bomber jackets, and accessories for the Pokémon TCG card game.
  • The ESA online store is offering an apparel line, T-shirts, bags, notebooks, and badges.
  • Players of the mobile game Pokémon GO can also look forward to themed in-game activities.
