The samurai action franchise returns after a 20-year wait: the new game Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be released on September 4, 2026, simultaneously on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. On this occasion, the developers shared a fresh trailer titled "The Legend of Onimusha", designed to introduce players closer to the lore and history of the universe.
Return of the Legend and the Battle Against the Genma
The dark fantasy adventure centers around the young samurai Miyamoto Musashi, the legendary Edo-period swordsman. Players will have to travel to ancient Kyoto to stop an invasion of demonic Genma creatures. Thanks to the mystical Oni Gauntlet, the hero can wield otherworldly powers beyond human capabilities in deep and dynamic battles.
