The iconic Japanese role-playing game DRAGON QUEST XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition is coming to the new Switch 2 console as soon as September 24, 2026. Ahead of the release, the developers shared a fresh overview trailer showcasing the scale of the epic journey and visual improvements.
Technical Improvements and File Size
The Switch 2 edition will take up 23.4 GB of free space—significantly more than the version for the original Switch (9.4 GB). This increase in size is due to substantially improved textures, higher resolution, and new graphics and frame rate modes that will allow players to choose between visual quality and performance.
It is worth noting that no free or paid upgrade is provided for owners of the original Switch version, and there will also be no option to transfer save files to Switch 2.
