And the first of them was a Direct dedicated to the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda series. However, despite lasting a full 30 minutes, we won't dwell on it for long. So, this year we can look forward to a world tour by a symphony orchestra featuring the franchise's music, a new ticket design for the Nintendo Museum, and a full-fledged cinematic adaptation of the series in theaters with the ingenious title The Legend of Zelda. We're waiting for April 30, by the way. Besides that, there was the most important thing — merch, Merch! MERCH!!! Literally kilotons of MERCH! Figurines, building sets, musical instruments, and much more. Uh, did I already mention that merch was shown at the presentation? Yes? Well, I've covered the most essential part. But something saves the presentation from total failure. And that is — an extended gameplay demonstration of the The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. Although at first what was shown looked to me like neuroslop from the series "Hey ChatGPT! Vibe-code me a game in the style of The Legend of Zelda, but with photorealistic graphics", in the end the game managed to somewhat soften the impression. Even though some design choices still raise questions for me, I am looking forward to this game with great anticipation. And I advise you to as well. See you on November 5!

And finally — for the franchise's anniversary, Nintendo introduced the first limited edition Nintendo Switch 2 console! And you won't believe it! Not even in the "gaudy kitsch" style! It even made me want to sell my Switch and get my hands on the new one. The combination of green, gold, and black turned out to be very successful. Coming out on October 29, 2026.

This concludes the first Direct of September. And to speak frankly — if it weren't for the showcase of Ocarina — it would have been a catastrophic flop. As it stands — a minor flop, a mid-tier Direct, nothing significant. Now let's see what Nintendo and its partners have in store for us in the main Direct…
Monster Hunter Wilds… Well, this game had been promised quite a long time ago. Capcom paid a rather high price for the rushed release of this game on older platforms in February 2025. They paid with their own reputation and the reputation of the entire franchise by shoving a raw, buggy piece of that well-known substance onto the market. And now, washing the stains off their underwear from that fact, Capcom is releasing this game for Nintendo Switch 2 as well. If you aren't afraid to try this controversial game — on December 6, 2026, it will pay us a visit too! Oh, and the DLC expansion will be released sometime in 2027 on all platforms.

The final part of the "Remake trilogy" Final Fantasy 7. Well, this too was promised who knows when. And if you wish to dive into it with the rest of the world — April 8, 2027 will be your time! Oh, they also updated Crisis Core for Nintendo Switch 2, and available right now at that… I wonder if an upgrade for owners on past-gen is provided? Though, this is Square Enix, so of course not…
Ooh, now this is something interesting! Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will get a "Definitive Edition". With all DLCs, 60 frames per second, a new difficulty level, and an increased enemy count… Oh, even discounts for owners of the original are provided! Take notes, Squares and Sega, on how updates should be done! When? Not until February 25… Ohh, so loooong

Did you ask for friend-slop on Switch 2? Well, we've got it! And not just sometime later, but right now! Meccha Chameleon is already ready to invite you to play with your friends (I hope you have them)
Pokopia still exists… Well, there are few games across both Switches whose popularity I understand so little. This time ties, glasses, bowties, and other "accessories" will be brought to the game. For money of course, what did you think! They'll add them sometime later, giving you just enough time to save up some cash…
Alright, looks like Nintendo still can't let another dead horse lie… The recent remake of StarFox 64 on September 29 will receive several new maps, four-player local play on a single console, and a few more minor additions. At least it's free.
Surprise surprise, "Nintendo Classics" wasn't forgotten either — the Zelda-like StarFox Adventures drops into the collection starting today. It's nice that Nintendo still remembers to expand this collection as well.

One of the "miracle ports" of the original Switch era — The Witcher 3 — will also receive a dedicated version on Nintendo Switch 2. Furthermore, this remaster is free for all owners of the original! What customer orientation… Unusual to see in these times… And the new DLC will, of course, visit Nintendo Switch 2 as well. We're expecting the remaster on September 29, and the DLC — in 2027

And here come new announcements for the console — Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will also visit us in 2027. Oh, I hope the footage shown at the Direct is very, very early alpha… Otherwise, it's just an embarrassment to put THAT up for sale…
A new Fire Emblem releases on September 17. Considering how much they've already shown us about it, I think we can move on.
Well, look at that… Level-5 is showing signs of life again! Looks like this time we will actually get a new Professor Layton on modern platforms! Professor Layton and the New World of Steam will see the light of day on December 10, 2026. And on both Switch generations! Oh, and they're resurrecting Yo-kai Watch too… Interesting, interesting….

Oh, the leakers didn't lie again — Pikmin 4 will indeed get a native version for Nintendo Switch 2 with a certain amount of new content. Everyone who missed "Dandori every day" won't be bored again. Your day is November 12, 2026. Poor GTA 6, how Nintendo is cornering it with its releases…
Oh, so that's the exclusive horror game Bloober Team is cooking up for Nintendo… Of course, I don't like horror games, but it looks unusual. Especially the fact that the game can only be played in handheld mode… For those interested — Onyx: The Dark Grip will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.

Right, well, a reminder again about the winter release on December 3 of the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, nothing special, moving on…
The creators of Overcooked decided that one game for family feuds wasn't enough for them. They needed to release Stage Fright — a 3-player puzzle-platformer. If you're not afraid of falling out with your relatives — grab it, the game is 100% guaranteed to deliver a ton of emotions. Releasing sometime in 2027.
Gameloft and Disney continue milking the latter's intellectual property. A new expansion for Disney Dreamlight Valley titled The Keepsake Sea will be released on both consoles of the Nintendo Switch family in November 2026. Watch out, GTA!
Right, this is where a description of that disgrace titled Ondeh Ondeh Kaya’s Tasty Tale with Katamari vibes from Bandai Namco was supposed to be… but I won't, the game looks way too sub-par… Coming out sometime in 2027, but I'd be wary.
And Warner Bros has finally managed to optimize their Lego Batman. "Legacy of the Dark Knight" will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 18, 2026. I think Lego or DC fans will appreciate it…
Alright, some climbing game called Cairn is coming out… Sometime in 2027. Let's move on.
Oh, Capcom finally decided to bring its evergreen games to Nintendo Switch 2. And we don't mind! So the remake trilogy of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 has finally reached Nintendo consoles. Release date — October 16, 2026.

The famous English aristocrat also decided to drop by this "celebration of life". The remake of the very first Lara Croft game, Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis, will appear on Nintendo Switch 2 alongside all other platforms on February 12, 2027.
Missed Nintendo exclusives? Well, here they are! For everyone who remembers the glorious days of the Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort will release on October 22, 2026.
Continuing with exclusives… The adventures of our frantic Metroid keep going! And now the sixth installment has appeared on the horizon! Looks like Nintendo found the right studio to trust with mainline Metroidvania entries in the Metroid series. And praise be for that! Metroid: Ravenous will be released on January 28, 2027. Personally, I'm looking forward to it.

A free update for Mario Kart World… Skipping…
Capcom just can't be stopped… Now they're releasing another Mega Man on both Switches. If only all companies made games for Nintendo Switch 2 like this… Megaman Dual Override will release in spring 2027…
Right, another game that's either a JRPG or just some action title, but with the visuals of the latest Dragon Quest remasters… Well, Eternal Anima will release on March 4, 2027…
Obscure Japanese stuff again… Well, I never understood Danganronpa and most likely won't start now. But fans of Spike Chunsoft's work should know that Danganronpa 2X2 comes out on January 14, 2027.
Time for the "rapid-fire announcements", so I won't linger either. Coming to Nintendo Switch 2:

Oho, Atlus and Sega popped in for a visit… Looks like sales of the Persona 3 remake on Nintendo Switch 2 completely satisfied Sega, and they decided to port all their upcoming projects there as well. Persona 4 Revival will be released on May 20, 2027, and Persona 6 – sometime in the future.

And here is the final game closing the show… And it's a new Kirby! Looks like this time a real 3D open-world game awaits us, rather than Crash-style linear levels… I'm intrigued; wonder how this pink all-devouring ball will play in such a setting… Kirby and the World Beyond will release for Nintendo Switch 2 in spring 2027. Interesting, interesting… And Kirby is 35 years old now…

Overall — that's where Nintendo ended this Direct. All in all — in my opinion, the presentation turned out quite decent. Without hysterical screeching or major failures. Nintendo's upcoming game lineup through February 2027 inclusive was laid out quite clearly. And that's precisely when the first Big Direct of 2027 arrives… I suppose we will see each other again then, but for now, allow me to take my leave. Thank you for reading my text overview of the last two Nintendo Directs, and best of luck to you!
