OBAKEIDORO 2: Chase & Seek Released on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2

OBAKEIDORO 2 was released today on Switch and Switch 2. Asymmetrical battles, 6 modes, and the Game Share feature for playing together with friends await you!

FREE STYLE studio director Katsu Tanaka happily announced that OBAKEIDORO 2: Chase & Seek — the highly anticipated sequel to the original 2019 game, is officially releasing today on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The developers invite players from all over the world to join this fun and friendly game of supernatural tag.

Spooky and Cute Fun

OBAKEIDORO 2 immerses players in a spooky world inspired by traditional Japanese legends. It is an exciting game of cat and mouse where you can play solo or team up with friends. Thanks to its unique "scary-cute" character design, the game offers tense asymmetrical multiplayer matches suitable for players of all ages.

Humans vs. Monsters

Matches support up to 8 players online. In tense 3-minute rounds, players are divided into Monsters (1-2 players) and Humans (3-6 players). The monsters' goal is to catch all the humans and put them in a cage before time runs out. Humans win if at least one manages to escape capture!

Each monster has unique skills: passing through walls, super-fast movement, or powerful attacks. At the same time, humans must rely on teamwork, use flashlights to blind enemies, and rescue allies from cages.

Main features of the game:

  • Asymmetrical battles: play as a Monster or survive in the Human team on various Japanese-style maps.
  • Quick matches: simple controls and short 3-minute rounds make the game perfect for parties.
  • Shared play on Switch 2: use the Game Share feature on Nintendo Switch 2 to invite friends to the game, even if they don't own a copy!

Six modes for any play style:

  • Quick Match: online battles with players from all over the world, where maps change every hour.
  • Room Match: private online rooms with access via password or Room ID.
  • Join Friends: the ability to quickly join friends' online sessions.
  • Single Player: single-player mode to earn coins and unlock new characters.
  • Local Party: local multiplayer for up to 8 players using multiple consoles.
  • Splitscreen: split-screen play for up to 4 players on a single system.
