Bill Trinen explains why Ocarina of Time is the ideal entry point into the Zelda universe

If you have never played The Legend of Zelda series before, Nintendo's Vice President of Player Experience and Product Bill Trinen assures that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the ideal place to start with the franchise.

The universe's foundational story

This statement coincided with the release of the updated version of the game for the next-generation Switch 2 console. Trinen is convinced that Link's iconic adventure lays down the foundational knowledge every player needs:

• Introduces key characters and the universe of Hyrule;
• Explains the fundamental mythology and conflict of the series;
• Provides an ideal balance of classic puzzles and an engaging story.

According to the Nintendo representative, Ocarina of Time remains that foundational story after which any other entry in the series will be perceived with much greater depth and clarity.
