Happinet and the developers from Wit One studio are preparing the adventure game Lost Museum: Echoes of the Chromageists for release, scheduled for Switch 2 in 2027. The project's scenario is written by renowned writer Rika Suzuki, who brought players such cult detective quests as Another Code and Hotel Dusk: Room 215.
Mysteries of the Forgotten Museum
The game's plot tells the story of Chromageists—mysterious creatures with whimsical faces born from works of art. Behind each such face lie lost memories of life. The main character, a boy named Vince, ends up in the mysterious "Lost Museum," where he finds a magical quill, which he uses to try to unravel the secrets of the paintings and the feelings of their inhabitants.
An Unexpected Source of Inspiration
In an interview with Automaton-Media, project producer Honoka Ohara shared that the detective visual novel Urban Myth Dissolution Center had a significant impact on development:
"If we talk about recent games, it's Urban Myth Dissolution Center. Our company was involved in distributing this title. I have always loved indie games and follow many projects, but this game stood out the most to me. I was sure it would be a hit, but its popularity among the casual audience exceeded all expectations."
The release of Lost Museum: Echoes of the Chromageists on the next-generation Switch 2 console promises to deliver fans of atmospheric detective stories a deep narrative and an unforgettable art style.
