The security of the new Nintendo Switch 2 console seems to have suffered its first serious crack. Reports have surfaced online that hackers have managed to obtain the first dumps (ROM files) of games for the new platform, as well as release an early version of an emulator for PC.
First Switch 2 Game Dumps
For more than a year after the console's release, the Japanese company managed to hold the line and respond promptly to any piracy attempts. However, insiders and dataminers recently published confirmation of the first file leaks:
- File snapshots from the beta version of Duskbloods.
- Dumps of the first four chapters of DELTARUNE.
Appearance of the First Emulator
The situation is developing rapidly: the first public Switch 2 emulator, created as a fork of the Eden project, has already become available for PC. Although the current version experiences significant graphical artifacts and frame rate drops, it is already capable of running early builds of projects such as Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza.
Now the entire community is awaiting a response from Nintendo's lawyers, who traditionally fight extremely hard against the illegal distribution of their games and the emulation of current hardware.
