Publisher DreadXP, along with developers John and Evan Szymanski, announced the release of the puppet horror game My Friendly Neighborhood on the Switch 2 console, which took place today.
What is the game about?
In My Friendly Neighborhood, you play as repairman Gordon, who is tasked with shutting down a sudden unauthorized broadcast of the long-cancelled children's puppet show "The Friendly Neighborhood". Once, this sweet show brought joy to children all over the world, but over time its popularity faded, and the studio closed down. Now, familiar characters have unexpectedly returned to the airwaves... but they seem to have started devouring each other!
The game combines dynamic action with classic survival horror elements. There is no excessive gore or dismemberment here, but the eerie atmosphere and dangerous puppets eager for lethal "hugs" guarantee plenty of tension.
Main features:
- Friends or foes? Meet a colorful cast of puppet characters who turned into enemies (and perhaps friends again).
- Classic survival horror: Non-linear gameplay and location exploration with constant map checking.
- Unusual weapons: Use the alphabet as ammo in the special Rolodexer device.
- Puzzles: Solve various puzzles in the tradition of the genre's best.
- Grid-based inventory: Manage resources in real time through a convenient item management system.
