The first Final Fantasy series game in HD-2D style is now available
Square Enix today officially released the new role-playing game Final Fantasy Resonance for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. This is the first installment in the iconic franchise created in the signature HD-2D visual style, combining the pixel aesthetic of the classics with 3D environments and modern effects.
Game features and combat system
Final Fantasy Resonance was created as a tribute to classic and modern releases in the series. Players can expect:
- Cinematic pixel art: dynamic camera angles and 3D models in pixel style.

- Strategic turn-based battles: mechanics for breaking enemy defenses, gaining extra turns, and executing devastating Resonance attacks.
- Legendary characters: the ability to summon Visions of the series' iconic heroes to customize your own team.
- Rich additional content: a battle with Gilgamesh, the Colosseum, the Chamber of Arms, and an epic showdown with Ultima Weapon.
